Random Facts

Here are a few things about me…

1. I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA (well actually a suburb of New Orleans)
2. I lived in St. Paul, Minnesota for a total of 8 years
3. Dan and I met on the internet in 1997 (AOL Chatroom)
4. My favorite sport is Hockey (go MN Wild)
5. I love being an Army Wife and a WAHM
6. Many of my good friends I have never met in person… gotta love the ‘net!
7. My NEW favorite ice cream is World Class Chocolate from Baskin Robbins
8. I really dislike any kind of bug
9. My favorite saying is “suck it up and move on!!!”
10. I’m hoping to go to Europe next year for vacation
11. Secretly I’m a techie Geek!
12. I attend Catholic school for 12 years
13. I even attended an all girl Catholic High School
14. I attended the University of Southern Mississippi & University of New Orleans
15. My mom has 4 brothers and 1 sister
16. My dad is an only child and Army Brat
17. I am too old to go tent camping
18. I love seafood
19. I can’t stand the site of SPAM (the food and SPAM mail)
20. I witnessed a murder the summer after High School
21. I had to testify at the trial
22. I love going to the beach
23. Both of our daughters resemble me as a child
24. My oldest daughter wants to be a computer animator and work for Pixar
25. She received a signed picture from Brad Bird (Director of The Incredibles) and John Lasseter (Pixar CEO)
26. My other daughter wants to play hockey for the University of Minnesota
27. I love to shop
28. I love to get dressed up and go out…my husband does not!
29. I wear glasses for reading and computer work
30. I love social media (seriously I do )
31. I love to paint unfinished furniture
32. I am goal oriented!
33. In Army Lingo, I’m also known as HH6 or Household 6
34. I’m developing an event for MilSpouses to connect online
35. I want to have another child in the next year or so
36. For our next duty station, I’d like to live in Germany or go back to TX
37. I have 5 neices and 2 nephews
38. I love my Mac computer..it rocks!!!
39. I like to organize online events (business and non-business)
40. One day I’d like to own a Humvee
41. I like to play video games on my hubby’s Xbox 360
42. My best friend and I have never met in person
43. I love editing audio
44. Someday, I’d like to go back working in Respiratory Therapy (if I can do it from home LOL )
45. I’m developing a course for teaching Podcasting to primary and secondary teachers.
46. My favorite perfume is Fire and Ice
47. I was adopted around 6 months of age in New Orleans, LA
48. So far, I’ve lived in Louisiana, Mississippi, Minnesota, Texas and Virginia
49. I am going to New York City for the first time in April 2007
50. I volunteer for too many projects!
51. I served on the Ft Belvoir Elementary PTO Board for 2 years (wonder if I’ll be a VP candidate one day?)
52. I was interviewed by Fox News for an Army Wife Segment at my house in March 2007
53. I attended Podcamp NYC in April 2007 and met some awesome people.
54. I finally met my business partner and friend Wendy Cooper 0ffline after knowing her for more than a year!
55. I love painting furniture
56. I recently attended the GI Film Festival in Washington DC….awesome documentaries!!! (2007)
57. While at the film Festival I met several actors and directors… James McEachin (Matlock, Old Glory), R Lee Emery (Full Metal Jacket, Toy Story, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and MailCall), John Dahl (The Great Raid).
58. I got my photo taken with the Gunny (R Lee Emery) at the 2007 GI Film Fest
59. Attended Military Spouse Appreciation Day 2008 at the White House and got to shake the Presidents Hand. Also took pictures with Gen Cody, Secretary of the Army Pete Guerin
60. I’ve meet 2 Country Stars now… Garth Brooks and Phil Vassar (met Phil while at the White House)
61. I was the Lead Organizer for PodcampDC 2008 which was AWESOME!
62. For a brief time I served as a virtual matchmaker for my friend Tishia Lee
63. I truly am in love with Dan
64. I’m in complete awe of my children and what they have been able to accomplish in their lifetime thus far.
65. My passion lies with the military and supporting military families.

67. I love playing Halo , Rockband and Burnout on the Xbox 360
68. What’s the secret for dealing with stress? Its a 2 step process: 1. Go buy big girl undies 2. Put them on
69. I love playing with new themes on my WordPress blogs.
70. I have fun brainstorming to come up with creative ideas.
71. Someday I’d like to own a horse and a St. Bernard dog
72. I started a garden this summer (how much you want to bet it will die very soon)
73. After being out of school for over 5 years, my first class back I got an A
74. I’ve been a work at home mom (WAHM) since April 1998
75. I love my job helping people with new media and social media plus I get to do it from the comfort of my sofa. : )
76. I <3 (heart) the State Fair in MN (aka MN Get-Together) Cheese Curds ROCK!
77. We are moving to Colorado in December 2008 (FINALLY)
78. I love the fact that my daughters are just as techy and “geeky” as we are
79. I love that Beck likes to play xbox with her Daddy
80. I’m not looking forward to the deployment next year.. it will be hard but we’ll survive (refer to #68 )
81. Favorite part of my job is introducing people to social media and all that it offers.
82. Got to attend the 2008 AUSA Conference and meet Mrs Casey and GEN Casey
83. I love what gets accomplished when the military community and social media comes together
84. I’m  homeschooled my oldest for 6 months in 2010 — realized I’m not meant to teach my kids academically
85. We were honored by Walter Reed Medical Center during Military Family Appreciation Week 2008 as an exceptional military family.
86. At the event, we were interviewed by the Pentagon Channel
87. I love living in Colorado Springs – Fort Carson not so much
88. I think my life ROCKS!
89. I’m the Military Bliss Channel Editor at Blissfully Domestic (January 2009)
90. Participated in the Baby Einstein Bloggers Summit 2009 in Los Angeles, CA
91. I’m currently writing a book on what’s it is like to be a REAL Army Wife (due out in November 2011)
92. In May 2009, I got the opportunity to meet Lily Burana , military spouse and author!!
93. I’ve been given so many great opportunities thanks to the Army
94. I was a panelist at Blog World Expo 2009 (military spouse blogger)
95. We are moving to Iowa in December 2010 (so very close to MN )
96. I worked at the CO Springs Gazette as a Military Site Manager and produced a weekly page for the paper (used InCopy, DTI and InDesign ) for 6 weeks
97. I love working with my consulting clients and PR reps .. being able to do it all from home!
