Household6 is MIA?

June 01, 2008 By: Household6 Category: Uncategorized 2 Comments →

Well yes sort of.. I’ve definitely been missing in action (MIA) from the ‘net! For those that wrote wondering if I’m alive, I’m happy to report that I am and all is well. Dan come home from WLC (warrior leadership course) at Ft Knox a couple of weeks ago. So I’ve been hanging out with Dan while he’s been on leave, which has been lots of fun and relaxing.

Big changes happening around here… I’m going to part time status with my work at home Virtual Assistant (VA) business, going back to school to work in Respiratory Therapy again, and I’ve got a really cool project I’m working for Parents of Military Service members out there.

Have a great weekend!

10 Ways to Annoy an Army Wife

May 09, 2008 By: Household6 Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

1) As soon as you find out her husband is deployed take it upon yourself to tell her exactly how you feel about the war and how WE shouldn’t be over there.

2) Follow that up by asking how she feels about the President.

3) Look surprised and say, “I don’t know how you do it, I could never LET my husband do that.”
4) If she’s pregnant be sure and ask if the military is going to send her husband home for the birth.
5) Tell her she should really consider getting additional life insurance since her husband has a good chance of getting killed.
6) Remind her how lucky she is that her husband gets all that extra tax free money when he’s at war.
7) Try to relate to her by saying you know just how she feels because your husband was out of town on business for a week last month.
8 ) Ask her how she can be faithful for a whole year and if she worries about her husband cheating on her.
9) Inquire on whether or not her husband has killed anyone.
10) Be sure to ask her when her husband comes home, if he’s done with the military or if he has to go back.

We had our BIG night out at the Walter Reed Dining Out last night, which was held at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, DC. It really turned out to be a great night! I can’t tell ya the last time we got all dressed up and went out for a night of fun. Our awesome neighbor (best neighbor in the world) offered to keep the girls overnight so we could really have some fun. (which we did…HEHEHE)

I know my freind Kim wanted to see a pic of us all “dressed” up so I’m sharing it with all of you as well…

We didn’t really do much today just kind of relaxed till 11AM till the girls came home and then went and looked for some new furniture. I’m so glad that we get to move into our bigger place next week! I’m really excited about it.. have I told you that? : )
It’s Fall…hubby is home….MN Wild are doing well… Life is good!

Have a Hooah Day!

Catching up…

October 06, 2006 By: Household6 Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

Hello Everyone

Happy Friday! Just thought I’d post an update on the going-ons around here. THe situation with the Evil Neighbor is still the same..although she almost ran over Kiersten the other day. My other neighbor and I were crossing the street (in frong of my house/driveway)to the bus stop with all the kids. Well as we are crossing mid-street and Kiersten has a seizure and sits down. Well Lisa aka Evil Neighbor is in her car backing out and she is continuing to backout. She would have hit her with the car if all the adults didn’t stop and run over to Kiersten. I couldn’t believe it! So now she has gone from Evil Neighbor to just plain Crazy Neighbor. Luckily Kiersten was fine and recovered in a few seconds.
Speaking of Kiersten.. it is true that she is having seizures again. She had an EEG several weeks ago which showed she is having seizures on the left side of her brain. Her doctor, Dr. Sharp has put her on topomax and she is doing pretty good. She averages one seizure per day but they are short and she recovers pretty quick. Dr. Sharp says that if medication doesn’t work (there are a few we can try) then surgery is an option. We are hoping that the meds will do the trick in addition to keeping her stress level down.

Things are going well for the rest of us. Becca is doing well in preschool and is really starting to show that she is ready for Kindergarten. She’s so busy these days playing with her freinds, getting invited to birthday parties, etc. She’s such a social butterfly but she’s having a great time.

Dan is recovering nicely from his eye surgery last month. His vision (without glasses) is now almost as good as when he wore glasses. There is a still a little inflammation then there should be but his doctors give him some additional eye drops that are helping.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the fall weather! (at least here in the Northern VA)

Hooah!
