An Introduction

Hi I’m Tishia, friend of Tammy’s and proud Army girlfriend to Seth. When Tammy asked me to be a guest blogger here at Household6, I kind of laughed at the thought of it. I feel so unqualified to be writing anything about the military life because this is all so new to me! I’m learning as I go along and taking it one day at a time and I certainly still have so much to learn!

I suppose I should take a second and give a little background as to how I became introduced to the military life. Tammy actually plays a role in this because she is the one that introduced me to Seth.

It was a rather interesting way it all came about and some people call me crazy but I wouldn’t want it any other way, it’s our story and that makes it special! I think back to that Thursday night (I remember it like it was yesterday) sitting in Tammy’s online conference room and getting on the subject of me being single . The next thing I knew his picture up and I’m looking at his gorgeous eyes and this great smile thinking wow he’s really cute. Not thinking anything of it, I went on and on about how cute he was and suddenly there was some virtual match making going on. And as the saying goes, the rest is history.

It’s been an interesting couple of months to say the least but I’m learning to embrace each and every day and to not expect anything except for the unexpected, if that makes any sense. That was one of the first things Tammy taught me and boy is that saying ever true!

I’m learning that I am a lot stronger of a woman than I gave myself credit for and I can certainly state the fact that it takes a special woman to be a soldier’s wife/girlfriend! It takes a lot out on us emotionally, more than a lot of people realize. And there seems to be a lot of negativity around me about the whole situation of building a relationship with Seth.

But I’m at the point in my life where the feelings I have for him and the feeling that this is the first ‘right’ thing in my life in a long time is all that matters. I’m not going to let other people’s thoughts and opinions dictate how I feel about him. Yes caring so strongly about a soldier isn’t the easiest relationship I’ve ever had but right now it’s exactly what I want and I’m not going anywhere!

So there you have it, a little about how I became a part of this crazy, wonderful military life.
