well its been 1 week since Dan officially started Basic Training and only 8 more to go. On the one hand it sounds like forever but on the other it sounds pretty good. Especially, compared to some of my other Army wives’ freinds whose husbands are on deployment for a year or longer.
I got two letters today from Dan and he sounds 10X better than he did in the last letter I got from him. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten such wonderful, meaningful romantic letters. He even pulled a “Jack Nicholson” He was telling me why he is doing this for him,us, the girls. Then he said the easiest way to say how he feels about me is kind of like Jack was in “As Good As It Gets” he says that I make him want to be a better man. I have to say when i heard that line in the movie, i thought how corny is that? But today it just melted my heart and made me fall in love with him all over again. Maybe this is exactly what the both of us needed. Last summer was a turning point in our relationship, it could have gone either way.
Now 6 months later, we are re-committing ourselves to one another. I have to say I like it even though I miss him terribly. I miss his voice, his irritating ways, his touch but most of all just him being here.
Now that I got the sappiness out of my system, things are going well. The girls and I are finally on a schedule…now i just need to work on a housework schedule! LOL I also acquired a few contracts: paid work for Early Childhood Advocates’ website, paid marketing work, and finishing up the volunteer work on the Voices For Children website. I guess i’m getting paid for the Voices one too… there is a $300 fee in their budget for website, which I’m hoping is for me! : )
well its time for bed… going to Ft Snelling with Sgt Portz tomorrow! : )
